Taller privado de mosaico con Grace and Theresa

Normalmente doy clases de mosaico a gente que vive cerca de donde yo vivo pero también trabajo para el tour operador americano The Spanish Touch. A veces, cuando la gente viene de vacaciones a España les apetece realizar algo diferente como una clase para aprender a realizar mosaico. 

Después de unos días intensos visitando Barcelona y alrededores y de pasar toda la mañana visitando Park Güell, introduciéndose en el mundo del modernismo y de Gaudí, Grace y Theresa vinieron con cero conocimientos de mosaico a pasar un rato relajado. No sé muy bien qué expectativas tenían antes de empezar la clase. Lo que sí sé es lo que al final de la clase me comentaron: 'Pensaba que hacer mosaico iba a ser algo super fácil y ahora me doy cuenta de su dificultad. Ahora aprecio realmente lo que haces. Me ha encantado', 'Este es el mejor souvenir que podría tener de Barcelona'. 

Las tres nos lo pasamos genial. Fue una tarde estupenda. Las fui a recoger en coche hasta su hotel y en 20 minutos llegamos. Les entregué un dosier con información sobre las herramientas, tipos de teselas que se utilizan para hacer mosaico, diferentes tipos de técnicas, etc. Les expliqué un poco todo el proceso y manos a la obra! Después de la clase y mientras se secaban un poco las piezas, nos fuimos a dar una vuelta por la playa. Un día redondo! Al final, las acompañamos de nuevo a su hotel.

I usually teach mosaic to people that live close to me but I also work for the American Tour Operator The Spanish Touch. When people come to Spain sometimes they want a different experience, something authentic and fun, like a mosaic class. 

After a few days visiting Barcelona and surroundings and after spending all morning visiting Park Güell, some modernista jewels and learning about Gaudí, Grace and Theresa came to my workshop to have a relaxed afternoon. I am not sure about their expectations but at the end of the class they said: 'I thought mosaic was something super easy, but mosaic was not what I thought! I really liked it. This is the best souvenir ever!'. 

We spent a great afternoon. I picked them up at their hotel in Barcelona city center and in about 20 minutes we arrived. I gave them a brief explanation about the different tools used to make mosaic, the different materials and techniques, etc. After working on their mosaics for a couple hours, we had cake, tea and while their mosaics were drying, we went to the beach and took some pictures before taking them back to their hotel. A great day with awesome people.
